Dr. Richard Hoppe received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and continued his postdoctoral training as a medical intern at Cornell Cooperating Hospitals-North Shore Hospital, and Memorial Hospital. In addition, he was a fellow and chief resident in the Division of Radiation Therapy, as well as a fellow in the Cancer Biology Research Laboratory at Stanford University. Dr. Hoppe is currently professor, Department of Radiation Oncology, Stanford University School of Medicine, and the Henry S. Kaplan-Harry Lebeson Professor in Cancer Biology.

Dr. Hoppe holds memberships in numerous professional organizations including the American Society for Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research, and the International Lymphoma Radiation Oncology Group. In addition, he is on the editorial board of Journal of Clinical Oncology, Oncology Times, Advanced Medical Publishing, and the NCCN Journal, among others. Dr. Hoppe has published hundreds of articles on the treatment and research of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and Hodgkin's disease. He is the recent recipient of both the American College of Radiology (ACR) Gold Medal, and Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO) Educator of the Year Award.
